ABANDONED TRAILS THE BOOK

Finally our dream of putting out a book version of Abandoned Trails of Acadia National Park.  For a number of years we have been wanting to do this, and so far the libraries that have gotten a copy of it have had positive things to say about it.

If you live in an area where the book is not available at your local library, most libraries today have a free inter-library loan program where they can borrow the book from a library that does  have a copy of the book.

  1. That is awesome my friend, congratulations! The only reason I wrote my book is because you weren't doing one, lol. I can't wait to check it out. Where my work is more about the destination, I love seeing the random abandoned trails you find with stairways leading to nowhere and old roads, it's all so fascinating. Thank you for all the work you put into what you do, I truly do believe that without it, most of us never would have known an entire world of lost trails even existed.

  2. Doing a book on the scale you did is something I could not do, but I do prefer the route you took because your book is easy for people to access and get their own copies of. Our project is much more limited in scope, aimed at libraries. Hopefully 15 or 20 years from now someone will go into a library to conduct research and the maps and GPS we provide will help them in their research. One person wants to do a book on abandoned trails in Acadia which will dive deeper into the history behind each of the trails - that would be an interesting book, though Pathmakers already covers a lot of the history already. I always keep an eye on your updates because you always come up with new and interesting finds.
